Job Description Richardson Electronics is looking for a detail-oriented CMM Programmer/Quality Technician to join our LaFox manufacturing team. This role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys precision measurement, problem-solving, and working hands-on with quality inspection processes. The position serves as a lead metrology resource and is responsible for performing, programming, and improving mechanical inspection activities that support production, customer requirements, and overall product quality.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of mechanical and electrical piece parts and subassemblies;
- Use detailed mechanical measurements to inspect formed sheet metal and machined components against drawings and specifications;
- Accept or reject items based on measurement results and provided drawings and specifications;
- Program and operate the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to support accurate, repeatable inspection results;
- Record measurement results and maintain accurate test and inspection documentation;
- Help develop and document new inspection methods and fixtures to improve quality and efficiency;
- Assist in verifying corrective actions taken by suppliers;
- Maintain all documentation/records to ISO/regulatory standards.
- Perform basic electrical measurements on electrical and electronic components per provided drawings and specifications;
- Complete other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:
- Experience with CMM MCOSMOS;
- An associate degree in quality, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience, with at least 5 years of experience in QA, QC, or inspection;
- Familiarity with mechanical drawing software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks is highly desirable;
- Proficiency with mechanical and electrical inspection tools, including calipers, gage blocks and pins, optical comparators, digital multimeters, and CMM equipment;
- Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T);
- PC proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access;
- Familiarity with machining processes;
- Previous experience working within a formal Quality Management System;
- Strong attention to proper procedures, finished-goods quality, documentation, and continuous improvement.
Working Environment: Mostly manufacturing environment with some warehouse or office.
Physical Requirements: Sitting ~75%. Light lifting daily, with occasional lifting of 50+ pounds required.
