Job Description This position acts as the lead metrology expert. Responsible for performing and optimizing mechanical inspection activities for the LaFox area.
Job Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform incoming, in process and final inspection of mechanical and electrical piece parts and subassemblies;
- Perform detailed mechanical measurements on formed sheet metal and machined components per provided drawings and specifications;
- Accept or reject items based on measurement results and provided drawings and specifications;
- Operate and program the Coordinate Measuring Machine;
- Record measurement results, maintain test and inspection records;
- Assist in development and documentation of new inspection methods and fixtures, as required;
- Assist in verifying corrective actions taken by suppliers;
- Maintain all documentation/records to ISO/regulatory standards.
Non-essential Job Functions:
- Perform basic electrical measurements on electrical and electronic components per provided drawings and specifications

Qualification Requirements:
- Must be familiar with CMM MCOSMOS
- Relevant AS degree in quality or engineering, or equivalent industry experience (5 years minimum) in QA, QC or Inspection
- Familiarity with mechanical drawing software packages (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) highly desirable.
- Proficient in operation and setup of mechanical and electrical inspection instruments (calipers, gage blocks and pins, optical comparator, digital multimeter, Coordinate Measuring Machine, etc.)
- Proficient in reading and understanding complex mechanical drawings including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- PC proficient (MS Word / Excel / Access)
- Familiar with machining processes
- Previous experience working within the framework of a formal Quality Management System
- Extremely diligent regarding proper procedures, cosmetics of finished goods, documentation, etc
Working Environment: Mostly manufacturing environment with some warehouse or office.
Physical Requirements: Sitting ~75%. Light lifting daily, with occasional lifting of 50+ pounds required

Pay Range: $30-$35 per hour plus incentive
